Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween!!! We had a fun filled day of candy and
more candy. The girls had the day off of school so we tried
to keep them busy doing Halloween word searches, mazes,
crosswords, and crafts. Then in the afternoon we went and
did our business trick or treating. Most of the businesses
participate so the whole town is seen walking all over the
streets in their costumes. It is really fun, because you get
to see everyone all at the same time. We did that for about
2 hours then we came home to take a break and eat some
dinner..........before they got filled up on candy. Then we
went back out for about an hour in our new neighborhood
and in the old one. And by then the girls were done. No
complaining from ME!!! Speaking of me..................I even
dressed up this year. I borrowed some witch stuff from
one of my young women girls so I could match my girls.
Everyone called us the witch family!!!! (because of a little
coaxing from me in choosing their costumes.) Anyway,
we had a lot of fun!!! Until next year!!!

Makena's 1st day of Preschool

Okay so I broke down and decided to let Kena go to
preschool!!! I couldn't take her crying anymore about
her not being able to go to school with her sisters.
Every time I take the girls to school she would just cry
and cry and want to go with them. So today was her
first day of preschool. A pretty fun day to start.......
they got to dress up in their costumes and they had
a Halloween party. The preschool is taught by our
Primary President and she lives in our old house.
It feels pretty weird to go in their now!! She has
changed a lot of it, especially all the girly girl stuff since
she has 3 boys. Anyway, Makena should have fun!!!
There are two girls in her class that she knows pretty
well. One is in our ward and the other is going to live
across the street from us.....her name is Ellie. Maybe
that is why Makena decided she didn't want that name
anymore. I am kind of sad about her going, because
we were having so much fun. But I still plan on doing
things with her on the other days she is home.

Pumpkin Carving

We carved our pumpkins for family night on Monday!!!
You gotta love pumpkin guts!!!!! We usually use spoons to
dig out the oooy, gooy, yucky stuff, but the girls wanted to
dig right in. Shelby thought it was disgusting, Lexi loved it,
Makena didn't want to touch it, and Karli wanted to eat it!!
This is always one of my girls favorite things to do!!

As you can tell by the look of Makena's face.......she did
not like it one bit. I made her do it for a picture. She does
not like anything messy on her hands ever. Paint, food,
you name it, she doesn't like it. Karli had fun with the
pumpkins too. She is so strong she kept pulling of the top.
So I took it off after she got it in the face a couple of times.
She must of thought that pumpkin is good because she kept
sucking on the pumpkin and trying to eat it. YUMMY!!!

In the end...........Lexi had a scary face, Shelby did a bat,
Karli had a goofy face, and Makena made a kitty face with
this little light bright things she had to hammer in. She
thought that was pretty cool. She was so serious about her
work.

What kids Say!!

So I am posting this alot sooner than I thought.
But Kena said something today that I thought
was cute!!! I asked her where she put something,
she replied "I threw it away in the baby bathroom"
I started to chuckle and I said where is the baby
bathroom, is that your bathroom?" She said, "No
it is the bathroom by the TV and Karli's room" I
said "Why is it a baby bathroom?" She said,
"Because it is so dang tiny" Anyway, she made
me laugh and I wanted to remember it.

I want to try and post something everyday, so
hopefully I won't bore myself or you. But it is very
east to remember the big things and hard to
remember all the small things. Sometimes those
things are the most important things of all.

Puttin on the Witch

We had so much fun with Grama Sindy and Crapa Mike on
Saturday. First they came up and saw us at the house and
we were trying to figure out what we could go and do that
would be fun. Then Grama thought of Gardner Village.
At this time of year they decorate the whole village in
witches, they have a scavenger hunt (which mom forgot to
print off the paper), and lots of places to take pictures.
Since the girls are all going to be witches we decided it
would be really fun to go. Yes, I know I broke my rule....
but no one from Morgan would see them so it was okay.
So Grama got to work on their faces and we talked Dad
into going down. Good thing that Grama Sindy was here
so I know how to do their faces on Halloween. We walked
around and looked at all the witches. There were witches
in boats, on bikes, doing the hula, playing baseball, and even
going to the bathroom. There were also alot of real ladies
dressed up as witches. We had a lot of fun....I don't know
what dad and grampa thought......but they were still good
sports.

Then right before we left we got to meet one of Gardner
Villages real witches. The girls loved her. She was a great
witch. We got her to sit down and take a picture but it was
in a really bad place with the sun shining so you can't really
see her. But she was all decked out. The girls had a really
fun time and the best part was being able to spend time with
Grama and Crapa.

Halloween Carnival

Friday night we had our Primary Halloween Carnival.
The girls had so much fun!! They could go fish, pin the
nose on the witch, do a cake walk, throw rings, play
twister, and my personal favorite the donut game. The
object of the game is to see who can eat the donut the
fastest. But they can't touch the donut with their hands.
It was hysterical watching the girls. Makena couldn't
even hardly reach the donut, Lexi just walked around in
circles, and all Shelby did was laugh.

We have a photographer in our ward and she took
pictures of all the kids in their costumes. She took
this one of Karli and I (I didn't even know it).
As you can see my three little ones dressed up as kitty cats.
Shelby had to wear her costume from last year. Remember
my rule. This year by the time Halloween gets here they will
have worn 3 different costumes. Good thing I have a
costume store in my basement. They have had fun though.
Then after the carnival we went inside for our ward party.
We had a chili cook off which my husband so graciously
signed me up for. I don't even know how to make chili..........
.I buy it!!!! So I had to have the whole ward taste test my
very first chili! Thanks to Aunti who gave me the recipe.
Needless to say, I didn't win!!! But it was at least edible.
Thanks honey, I appreciate ya!!!

What kids say!!!

I have decided to add this to my blog everytime
Makena says something funny that I know I won't
remember. I was going to do it with all my other
girls, but I kept telling myself that I would always
remember, but it is gone. So for the last couple
of weeks Makena has been saying none stop.......
"What the heck it this". Every time she sees some-
thing that she doesn't know. I think I hear it
about 20 times in one day. Then the other day
I asked Shelby to take off her Levi's so I could
put them in the wash. It was almost time to get
in the shower so Shelby didn't put anything else
on. Well, Kena walked up to her and touched her
leg and said "Shelby what is up with this?" Then
she said "Please get some pants on"!!! She is so
hilarious, she makes me laugh all the time. Until
next time.

Glasses

So I hope you are not disappointed after you read this
story about the glasses since I gave some suspense before.
Anyway, the story behind the glasses is this..............one
night we were shopping at target and the girls saw these
glasses in the $1 section. They all grabbed a pair and said
they wanted to be like mommy. They were only $1, what
the heck. I just thought they were fun glasses for little kids
to play with so we opened the packages and let them wear
them. Well , come to find out they were reading magnifying
glasses. So the girls kept saying that they couldn't see. So
we had to push out all the lenses so it wouldn't hurt their
eyes, after the purchases of two new pairs of glasses (after
getting broke when we took out the lenses) everyone was
set. And they have been wearing them everywhere ever
since. I am kind of flattered they would all want to be like
me.

Pumpkin Patch

The girls decided that is was getting pretty close to
Halloween and we didn't have our pumpkins yet. So we
had our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. There are so
many pumpkins to choose from and it is so hard to for
them to make up their minds. Kena wanted a tiny one
that she could pick up. Lexi changed her mind at least
10 times, until she found just the right one. And Shelby
didn't know what she wanted other than she didn't want
her picture taken. Finally we ended up with four perfect
pumpkins and three little ones to match. Here are some
pictures of our trip. If you are wondering about the girls
and their glasses I will fill you in......in an upcoming post.

This was Karli's first trip to the Pumpkin Patch and
she had a blast. She just kept hitting the pumpkin trying
to figure out what is was. She even had to taste it. YUM!!!
She probably won't remember this, but she can look at the
pictures to see how much fun she had.

This is the Place

I was feeling bad this week because we weren't able to
go to Disneyland with Ashley. I promised my girls that
when Shelby was 8, Lexi was 5, and Makena was 3 that
we would go. But then along came Karli and our new house
and we weren't able to swing it this year. I feel so bad
for my girls. I need to learn how not to tell them some-
thing we are going to do until it is a for sure thing. So
instead of going to Disneyland and spending money we
didn't have, we went to This is the Place Heritage Park!!!
They had a Little Haunts thing so we dressed up in our
costumes, (not the ones they are going to be wearing this
year, we can't wear them twice in a row....one of my weird
quirks) and we went and had fun. They got to trick or
treat and they did a lot of fun activities. Shelby made a
doll out of corn husks, Lexi and Kena got their faces painted,
and they all made a fun ball toy. These are pictures of them
in the old school house following the teachers instructions on
another craft. They love going to the school because it
makes them feel like they are on Little House on the Prairie.

They also got to ride on a little train which they tried to make
spooky with some rats and a ghost. It must not have been too bad because they didn't get scared. They also got to pet the animals and ride the ponies.
This is how much fun Karli was having!!!! She even got to
wear a costume, thanks to Grampa Tony!! We couldn't find
her all day because she was in her camouflage.

Here is Kena in the corn maze. They had a lot of fun trying to find their way through it.

Here is our little Pocahontas by her tent and our Pilgrim by her cabin. It wasn't quite Disneyland but we had a fun day!!!!!

E is for Elephant and Eggs

This week we worked on Letter E. We had alot of fun!!! Well, I least I did. She was still getting over being sick so some days she was excited and others not so much. She knows the sound of letter E really well and she recognizes the letter, she just has a hard time with the name of the letter. So this week we made letter E out of playdough. Mine are the yellow ones and she did
the pink ones. Then we made an elephant puppet that was pink of course. She loved playing with it and making the sound of an elephant.

The next day we had fun feeding the elephant. I made an elephant out of a cardboard box and
left an opening for his mouth. We read a bookabout elephants and learned about what they ate. Then she got to feed the elephant some peanuts. She had a lot of fun lifting up his trunk.

Shelby got to play with us one of the days, because she stayed home sick. Makena made paint her
elephant that day. They also played the Elefun game. Makena had fun but was getting frustrated
that she couldn't catch any butterflies.

Then the next day we talked about eggs. We read some stories about who lays eggs besides chickens. She was amazed with some of the other animals that layed eggs. Then we made our own eggs out of playdough and learned to count to 12 and we practiced our colors. We also
smashed some egg shells and colored them and we made our own egg. I have decided we have more fun then welearn probably, but hopefully she is picking up some of it.
