Memorial Day...Dirt, Dirt and More Dirt

Yes, my girls are allowed to get dirty on rare occasions. Wonder why they were drawn to this dirt pile all weekend. We went up to my sister's in laws cabin at Fish Lake and had a great time. It was so, so fun!! My girls were begging to come back even before we left. Something about not taking a bath and playing in the dirt some more!!! From the trailer, to the 4 wheeler rides, to the food, to building forts, to roasting marshmallows, and back to the food......it was all great.

Karli couldn't get enough of the 4 wheeler. All she could say is "wide"!!!

I love this picture!! We were playing peek-a-boo in the rhino.

My girls love their cousins....yep more girls!!! Aren't they so cute holding hands.

I want some more smore's!!!! YUMMY!!

Karli and I chillin on the awesome deck!!

Karli and her favorite person ever....DADDY!

Forts are the bomb!!!! Thanks grama Maridon for the awesome weekend!!

Shelby's Favorite Teacher!

Shelby ended up having a great year...even with all of the changes we made. St. George was a little hard making new friends but she loved, loved , loved her teacher Mrs. Jensen. For some reason we don't have a picture of her, but she was wonderful. She helped Shelby so much. Some of the new friends Shelby made were Taibree, Abby, and Sasalah. And she even had a crush on one of the boys in her class....Jordan!! Very Cute boy I have to say!!! She still keeps in touch with two of these girls and we try to see them whenever we go to visit St. George.

When we moved Shelby did great with the transition. I guess she figured out that she can do hard things and it will all be okay. She quickly made friends in school with Mckenna, Makenzie, Hayden, and Ellie. And she even found a new crush.....but I am sworn to secrecy. Her favorite part of school was her wacky, crazy, fun teacher, Mrs. Herrmann. Shelby is a little wacky and crazy herself so they were like two peas in a pod. She had a lot of fun this year and learned a lot. She is looking forward to next year and becomes more and more like a teenager everyday.

Horsin' Around!

The one thing I love about living in the city...so to speak is the many things we can do. In May we spent family night at the farm at Thanksgiving Point. It was so much fun!!! The theme that night was Horsin' around. We learned all kinds of things about horses. We learned how to brush them...each of the girls had a turn and had a blast. We also went on a scavenger hunt and learned the names of different kinds of horses and what their markings mean. We also got to ride horses....LOVED it!!! And we also got to make a craft of a horse to take home. Lexi was in heaven and all the other girls had lots of fun too!!!

Karli working very hard on her horsey picture.

OOOH how cute!!!
Lexi still loves horses!! There is no ounce of fear for her when she is around them. She wants to be a Rodeo queen when she gets older and wants to become a vet so she can take care of animals, especially horses. I hope she always loves them and that I can find a way to her one someday. They told her while we were at the Farm that when they turn eight they can volunteer there and help take care of the horses. She has been counting the days ever since.

I think my other two girls are going to share that love of horses too. We will have to see!

At the end of the night...we put them in jail!!! Look how sad their faces are!! If only I really had one of these at home. We all had a great time...way fun FHE!

Carefree Days of Summer!

Wow I have some catching up to do!!! You gotta love those carefree days of summer!! This was at end of May, school was winding down and there was no homework and no schedules. The girls were out in the back yard playing in the weeds....or flowers to a bunch of little girls playing pretend. Karli was loving it!!! She sat here for an hour just pulling the weeds and throwing them. She looked so cute!
After she was done pulling the weeds she ran through them...back and forth, back and forth. Isn't it amazing the simple things that entertain kids.

They had so much fun and not a care in the world. Some days I wish I could be a kid again!! No worries no stress just running through a patch of weeds and giggling as I go.

As their imaginations kept going they started picking the "flowers" to decorate their house. They wanted to make it an enchanted castle. They did a great job and had hours of fun!!!

Family Night..Indoor Smores!!

YUM!!! I love s'mores!!! And obviously so do my girls!! Since we don't get to go camping very often we decided to do indoor s'mores over the stove top!! They turned out great and even got toasty!! I was surprised. We had family night and this was our awesome treat!!! Can't wait to do it again!!!

Look at that awesome toasted marshmallow!

Yummy!!!
We love chocolate!!

Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday Shelby!!!! I can't believe she is getting so big!! She wanted to spend her birthday in Richfield this year with EVERYONE!!! Most especially Grama who had a birthday just two days before. We had a blast!!! We went roller skating with Sekoya, Katera, Kelsey, and Kenzie. The girls first started out on roller skates, but Shelby quickly changed to roller blades.

Grama helped her around for awhile until....whamo she is doing it all by herself. Way to go Shelby!! She is usually not so daring but today she decided to be. She even got grama up on roller blades. Dad got up on them too....and fell!!! It was pretty funny until he didn't get up.
He ended up being okay...he just hurt his elbow and his pride.

What a bunch of cute girls!!!
We love all our cousins..it is so fun to
be with them.

Then we headed back to grama's for a birthday feast of Taco's...Shelby's favorite. Especially at grama's house. Then it was time for presents!!! We teased her at first that the only thing we got her was a candy bar....but she knew better. She got a couple of things for her American Girl doll, the last Fablehaven book, and last but not least a cell phone. What a cell phone at her age? Well, to justify my purchase...she is very responsible, it will let mom keep track of her (my strings are still tied), and she is paying for have of the monthly cost...teaching her that things don't come free. She was so totally surprised and excited. We tried to have it all set up that when she went to open it that it would ring!!! But it didn't work...she was still surprised anyway. She requested for her cake....Better than anything cake!! One of my favorites too!!! We had a blast! Grama's is definitely the place for a party!!

This is the....no way, it's a cell phone face.
This is the I love my phone face.
And this is the NO FAIR face!!!
And the mom opened that can of worms for
the rest of my girls and the cousins about
when they should get a cell phone face . SORRY!

Karli's Sleepy Adventure

How cute is this!!! Every night before my girls go to bed they read or look at books. This little one has now decided that she is officially done taking naps. Sad for mom!!! But by the end of the day she is pooped. Not to mention crabby!! The other night I put her to bed and within two minutes I went to check on her and found this. She was so tired she fell asleep with book in hand. I love sleeping children!!! Now she is off in la la land having some great adventures with one of her favorite friends....Dowa and Boots!!! Sweet Dreams little one.
