First Day of Kindergarten

Today was Lexi's first day of ALL DAY kindergarten!!
She was so excited, she has been counting down this
day for a month now. She woke up with a big smile
on her face and said "Today is the day" We looked
over the lunch menu (hamburgers.....yuk Lexi said)
and decided that even though she couldn't wait to
get her first tray of school lunch, she would have to
wait a couple more days. Just until they served
something she would actually eat. So I packed her
a lunch, so she wouldn't starve all day. We walked
into class and she put her backpack in her cubby
and grabbed her chair bag. After she found her
place and started coloring.....it was time for Mom to
leave.

I have to admit I did get a little nervous and
emotional. I didn't think I would, but then I realized
I wasn't going to see my little girl all day. I got
over that pretty quickly when I went home and it
was so quiet. Makena was so quiet, she didn't
scream at all!!! Of course, there was no one there
to torment her.

Lexi had a great day and is excited to go back
tomorrow. She came home and told me all about
her 3 recesses and all the fun she had in class singing
songs and learning the rules.

First Day of School

Okay so I am a little behind!!! Shelby's first day
of school was Thurs. Aug 21st. She was so excited
to go back. She was getting pretty bored at home,
you can only play with your little sisters so much.
Anyway, they just remodled and added on to our
elementary school, so she was excited with all the
changes they made. She is in 3rd grade this year
and I am still trying to comprehend how we got
here so fast. I always take pictures on the first
day of school and this year was not going to be
different. But Shelby wasn't so excited about it.
She is "getting to big" she informed me!! And she
also said that 5th grade is the last grade she is
going to allow me to take any pictures of her at
school. She has such an attitude, I feel like I am
already in teenage years.

Man oh Man, we have some rough times ahead.
With 4 attitudes, 4 drama queeens, 4 strong-willed
personalities. What was I thinking? J/K I love them
all and all the little things each one brings!! I hope
we are all the best of friends.

Back to Shelby, she loves school and it shows. She
does very well on her school work and she has tons
of friends. She is a great big sister and she is so
excited to help Lexi with her first year of
kindergarten!!!

Idaho Falls--Bear World

The second day we were in Idaho, we made dad end
his day early and we went to Yellowstone's Bear
World. It is a lot of fun!! The first thing you get to do
is drive through a little forest area that has Elk, Deer,
and Mountain goats. The are all just wandering
around and you drive past them in your car. Then you
go into this gated area were they have all the bears........
about 30 if I had to count them. There are 3 grizzly
bears and the rest are black bears. So you just drive
around and the bears just walk in front of you and
beside you as you go. You definitely leave you windows
up. This time while we were there we went on a courier
tour to feed all those big bears. We went in this big tall
truck and the bears would follow us from stop to stop
and the girls would throw out bread, donuts, and muffins
at them. They had so much fun. There was one bear that
would just clap at Lexi, as if to say "throw the food already"!

They each picked their favorite bear..Lexi's was
Monty and Shelby's was Bailey. You could pick
Bailey out pretty easy because she was all black
except for the brown mohawk down her entire
body.

They also had a petting zoo and a little amuzement
park for the kids. Lexi loved the petting the deer. She
would just follow them around until one got upset and
kicked her in the leg. Then she was heart broken and
wouldn't do it again. She couldn't believe that deer had
actually kicked her!!! Shelby loved chasing the chickens
to try and pet those fast little guys. Makena was
fine petting anything as long as its face was turned
away from her. She did not like their faces.

Makena's favorite thing was the rides. They had a
little roller coaster, some cars that went up and
down, a train, and I ride that goes up and down
really fast and tickles your tummy. Everytime
the ride would come down her eyes would get so
big and she would just giggle and giggle
.
And this is what little Karli thought of Bear World.
Maybe next time she will have more fun!!!!

Idaho Falls---Feeding the Ducks

Okay, so I is definitely time for another post. I can't
seem to find the time to do this. And I think I need
to have a picture everytime I post something. So
anyway, last week we traveled with dad on his work
trip to Idaho Falls. I wasn't about to let him go again
without us. We had a blast!!!! For the girls, it is
always fun to go stay in the hotel. They had so much
fun in the room. They had a separate room with a
bunk bed, TV, a coloring table and a little chalk board.
They were having so much fun!!!! That is the only
reason we stayed at the hotel. The room for us was
really quite gross. I can't believe I actually stayed
there. Bob really lowered his standards compared
to what he normally stays in. But the girls were having
so much fun we didn't have the heart to switch hotels.

The first thing we did was go feed the ducks!! It was
so fun!!! The ducks and geese would just swarm around
us. We even got to feed some ducklings. We ended up
feeding the ducks every day we were there and by the
end of our trip the girls were letting them eat right out
of their hands.

Hats, Hats, Hats

On Saturday my friend had a bow party, I was thinking
I am so sick of bows. But when I got there.....there were so
many cute flowers and I loved these hats. So I got four
different colors and I brought them home and the girls
fell in love with them. Makena and Lexi wore them to
church and Sunday and Makena has wore one every day
since. She will not let me do anything else to her hair.
And she leaves it on all day!!!! Anyway I had to show
off how cute they are!!(my girls and the hats) I am going
to make some black and white copies and hang them
on my wall.

My Husband can do Anything!!

So this last weekend Bob put in our back splash.
I am so excited, I wanted it to be done before we
moved in. But it hasn't even been a year yet so I
will take it. And I love it!!!! He did such a good job.
I am so glad I have a husband that can do things
like this and I don't have to hire someone to do it.
He said this was his first time doing a back splash
and like I said he did a great job!!!!

Scales and Tails

Last night we went to the Library for Scales and Tails.
They do it every year and the kids love it. The guy does
about an hour presentation of his creatures. He tells the
kids what they eat, where they come from, etc.... then at
the end of the show he lets all the kids have a chance to
hold or touch them. Can you believe my girls would hold
a snake? Even Kena almost put it around her neck, but
she was too afraid of the snakes head. She felt much more
comfortable around the turtle.

KEEP OUT!!

I have to tell you a funny story!!! Let me start by saying they are building a new house next to us, they are just starting to put up the brick. Anyway, the other day Bob was working in his office, when the next thing I knew he was out the door yelling at this guy. Apparently, the guy drove his big truck and trailer right across our front yard. Granted there is no grass as you can tell by all the tall weeds!! But it upset Bob!! So he called the home owner and told him to please talk to his subs and let them know it is not okay to drive on our yard. The next thing we know our neighbor had put up this make shift fence with a big sign that says "private property....KEEP OUT" only on our side. So it has been a big joke today. Everyone was asking if Bob put up the sign. Hopefully, this won't cause any issues with the new neighbors.

Makena's OWIE!!!

Today Makena got a big OWIE on her leg. Thanks to mom!!!
We just got done doing her hair and when she climbed down
off the stool she grabbed the flat iron cord. Well it came
down in an open position and got her on the front and back
of her leg. I felt so bad!! We quickly put cold water on it
and then some ice and then I looked at it later and realized
it was worse then I thought. But she is tough!! She cried for
about two minutes (mimuts as Kena would say) and then
she was smiling!!!

Morgan County Fair

Last week we went to the Morgan County fair. The girls love
it. There are a lot of activities for them to do. This year we
entered Karli in the baby contest. I really didn't want to do
it, it is really quite dumb. But I had to because all my other
girls were in it. So I had to have the photo for the
scrapbook. Anyway, I always think my kids are going to win
and they never do. They are the cutest kids in Morgan, I
don't care what any one says. So she didn't get to be
Queen, but she did win "the cutest outfit" award. The baby
contest was at 9 am and then we spent the rest of the day
...looking at the animals, playing kids games, painting our
faces, riding a small train, jumping in the inflatable jump
houses, and eating cotton candy. We finally left at about
4 pm. We had dinner and the girls and Bob when back at
7 pm for the rodeo that night. Radio is what Makena
called it. They all got cowgirled up in their little pink
cowboy hats and off they went. Bob said they had a blast!!
Shelby even got in the arena and tried to catch a chicken!!
We can't wait for next year. Makena asks every day if we
can go back to the fair.

The Last Two Weeks

Here we go, my first real post with pictures. Exciting!!! I am going to
try and fit the last two weeks in this one because we have had too
many exciting things happen!! The first exciting thing that happened
was we started Karli on solid food. Now that is something to jump up
and down about. She spits up so much that anything that stops me
from giving her a bottle I am all for it. We started with the rice
( of course) and she thought it was pretty disgusting at first. We also
gave her some sweet potatoes and she loved them. As you can see
all over her face. It as so funny because she just kept smaking her
lips! We need to get her liking all her veggies before we give her the
good stuff....Fruit!! If you ask me, all of it tastes gross!!

The next thing that happened was Lexi graduated from her summer
kindergarten program. She went to school fromJune 16th - July 23rd.
She loved it!! She got to go on all kinds of field trips. She went to the
Post Office, the Sheriffs Office, the Fire Station, and the most fun of all
was the Dinosaur Park. They got to ride the bus into Ogden, which
Lexi thought was very cool. Mom had to cut some of the strings
that day!! I worried about her all day. But she made it home safe and
sound. She had her little graduation on July 23rd. The sang songs
and each child had a chance to dress up in a costume. Lexi's was a
BEAR. She got to run out and growl and scare everyone. She did a
great job. She was so excited. Then to celebrate I took all the girls
to eat at Deb's Spicy Pie.

Last week Karli got a brand new toy!!! It is the Rainforest Jumparoo!!!
She loves, loves, loves it!!! We put her in it for the first time and it
took her a few minutes to figure it out. But after that, there was no
stopping her. It was so funny though, when she jumped for the first
time... she just had this look on her face like what just happened?
Did I do that? Then she jumped or the a good hour straight. Now
when I hold her she can't sit still she is always jumping!!!
