Our New House!

We are finally SETTLED.....can I hear a whoot, whoot!!!  I know I am doing a victory dance!!!  We tried and tried to get a construction loan but it just wasn't in the works for us this time.  We were running out of time and there was no way I was moving into another rental house.  So....drum roll please...........we bought this house.  It was owned by some of our friends so it feels a little weird living here but I hope that it feels like home soon!!!  The one thing that I loved most about the house was the yard!!!  I have never moved into a house that had the yard done.  Not only is it done...it is Beautiful!
This is the back yard...the girls love, love, love it!!  They call it their forest.  We have their little house set back in the trees and just behind the trees..behind the shop...in their own little secret place is the swing set!! They could spend hours in it!
We did make a few changes to the house before we moved in.  My friend said I was Heatherizing it!!  So here is the before picture of the kitchen......
And here is the after...  We painted the whole house, stained the cabinets, put in a raised bar, put in granite and tore out all the tile and put in wood floor.

 The living room before......
And after.........Bob laid all the rock on the fireplace, stained and cut the mantle.
I just love the back splash....we call it bubbles.  Shelby and I were at home depot picking it out and I picked this up and said "What do you think of this?  Do you think dad will like it?".  We didn't think so, but he did!  Even though he claims he doesn't to anyone that asks.
This is my new office set up.  So this is where I spend a lot of time, while Karli is playing in the playroom just to the left!!  It is awesome.  I get stuff done and she will actually play with her toys.
This is our new Tween hangout!!  This is where the girls do all their TV watching!  I see a few movie nights in our future!
This is the girls bathroom...they picked out all the stuff.  I usually like all the bathrooms to be neutral, but I thought it would be fun for them to have their own bathroom.  Of course it is pink!
This is the upstairs bath..more neutral as you can see!  We were not able to remodel the bathrooms just yet.  The absence of funds kind of makes it hard to do.  That will be something to look forward to in the future.
I had so, so much fun decoration the girls rooms!!  We have been moving so much the girls could never make anything their own.  So we were totally excited to do it!  Makena and Lexi's room has a cowgirl theme.  They both love horses so this is what we came up with.....

Karli's room is filled with flowers!!  Fitting for the girl who's favorite song is Flowers gleam and glow, let your powers shine!  I have been holding on to these wallies flowers for about 5 years and I finally got to use them.  One of my favorite things about her room is her bright green dresser!  Thanks dad for painting it.  Bob asked Karli about her room and she said "It is perfect!"
For the tween in my life a weekend in Paris is just the thing.  I love Shelby's room.  It is a little pink and Bob can't stay in there for long.  But it was so fun to do and she loves it!!
For now this is where we are putting our roots down.  For me I want them to stay way down...I don't want to move anymore!!!  I haven't gotten everything put together yet, but we are getting there.  Only the third car garage is left.  (ps. alot of these pictures were for you sis since you don't ever get to come and visit me).

A Brand New Year!

Does she look like a tween or what?  She sure does act like one.  I can't believe she is in middle school this year.  Where has the time gone!  She is so excited this year...a little nervous...but mostly excited.  We have been to the school already and got her locker and combination.  She had it all memorized by the first day.  The first couple days were a bit rough with the locker...she opened it once every 4 times.  But after the 3rd day she was a pro.  The only thing that concerned her this year was gym.  Showers, changing, all of that fun stuff.  It turns out they don't have to shower and after buying her some boy short undies she was good to go!!!  Great start to an exciting year!!!
My little Lexi Loo!!!  So, so excited for this year!  Not only does she have a great teacher but she has TWO of her best buds in there.  Brooklyn and Carsyn!!!  Could it get any better?  Maybe add a couple of cute boys.  Just kiddin...this little one isn't really boy crazy yet!  Thank goodness.  I am so excited for her and her braces are making her teeth so straight and beautiful!!  Have fun Lexi!
A big milestone for Makena!  The whole day at school and throw in lunch....that makes a perfect day!!!  She was so excited to be at school all day!!  The first couple of days she was exhausted but has gotten into the routine.  She has a brand new teacher this year and she is so cute.  We both love her!
Even though she was excited to eat lunch at school...she hasn't been very daring.  She usually ends up taking a lunch every day.  I hope she has a great year!
And this little one started Preschool!  YaHooo!!!  I am yelling FREEDOM right now.  I love her but she really is a handful.  She is my most strong willed, stubborn, and sometimes down right mean.  I hope that she doesn't take that to school with her.  She is adorable though!  Love ya Karli!
This must be what the first day of school does to you!

Our Last Hoorah!!

For the girls last hoorah before school started....Bob took the girls to Discovery Gateway museum. We had just got back from Wyoming and I couldn't bring myself to get in the car again.  Thankfully, my hubby said he would take them.  So they spent the day at the museum and they had a blast!!  Playing house, grocery shopping, riding horses, and climbing the rock wall.  So, so fun.....daddy---daughter time!

Then they went to the water fountain and got all wet! Way fun day to end the summer!!

Spur of the moment!

On Thursday morning, Bob and I were laying in bed discussing schedules.  He mentioned that we needed to go see his parents and was trying decide a day in Sept. to go.  Then I said...."Why don't we go today?" The look on his face was priceless.  He was like "What?" I am not a spur of the moment type of girl!  So I am sure that took him off guard.  We packed up our bags and we were out the door by 1:00pm.. Pretty good I would say!

We had a fun weekend!  We stayed with Connie...and couldn't hardly tear the girls away from her ipad 2.  We got to surprise Grama and Grampa!!  That was a lot of fun.  We walked in and Grama was trying to take a nap.  She had her eyes closed and when she opened them the girls surprised her.  She was so happy to see them.  Then grampa was next.  He was just getting out of the hospital that day so Bob was able to help him out a lot. We stayed at Vicki's and had a lot of late nights.  On Saturday, we drove to Billings so Bob could participate in Bailey's special day.  They all went and did her temple work.  I am so glad he was there to do that.  We ended up coming home on Sunday and after a weekend of about 20 plus hours in the car we made it home at 11:30pm.  Can I just say I hate driving!!!  The only way I was able to get through it was read, read, read.  I think I read 3 1/2 books. We had a lot of fun and a well over due visit with Grama and Grampa Lynam!

Can I just say that there is No Place Like Wyoming on Earth!!  And not in a good way!

Confused....Chucky Cheese!

This is the funniest thing that Karli has ever done and she does lots of funny things....I don't mean to be disrespectful at all with this post.
Here is the scenario....
We are sitting in the Home Depot parking lot
getting ready to get out of the car..
Karli is unbuckled and standing right beside me.
She gets all kinds of excited and points forward
and says......Jesus Christ.
I looked at her...too scared to look forward
and said "What?"
She points again and says...Jesus Christ.
At this point I am thinking...wow
my daughter must be special.
I timidly looked forward and saw nothing.
Then I looked across the street and there
was a picture of Chucky Cheese the mouse.
I said to her...."Karli that is a mouse"
And she said "Oooooh yea"

I bet you are wondering what we are teaching our children at home.  A little bit of false doctrine maybe!!  I promise you my little girl knows who Jesus Christ is!   He is a very special part of our home and family! Shelby thinks she just got mixed up!  Chucky cheese....Cheesus Christ?  We are going to have a little extra lesson with pictures on Jesus!
