Makena's Funnies

I love the little things that kids say!!!
This kid cracks me up so much most of the time,
notice I said most of the time. She gets pretty close
sometimes to getting in trouble because she is so sassy!!
For example: She was eating her lunch the other day...
(yes my daily struggle with her) and I was telling
her to eat her lunch. She started spouting off
something and I looked at her to say something and
she said "Yes I am talking to you like that".
I wanted to get mad but I was laughing too hard.

Speaking of lunch...her new favorite lunch is, a peanut butter and jelly heart. She will eat the whole entire thing. Then the other day I asked her what she wanted for lunch and she said "a broken heart"!! She is so cute!!

The other day I was doing her hair and I was getting frustrated because it wasn't working, so I said that her hair needed to go in time out. She looked at me and said "if my hair goes in time out that means I have to go too, and my hair is not my fault." She has this thing about things being her fault. She does not like that at all. Everything is an accident with her, no matter if she does it on purpose or not.

The last thing is....Makena absolutely hates Ross the store. I think it is just because when I go in there I spend way to much time in there. Anyway, I brought something home for her the other day from Ross..and she loved it. She looked at the tag in amazement to see that it was from Ross and she said, "i really hate that store, but I love the clothes." There are probably so many more Makenaisms, but if I don't write them down I forget. Man I love that kid!!!

Levi's are Evil...

Getting dressed at our house is a chore....especially on cold days. Karli would much rather be in Pj's or nothing at all. But there is one thing she absolutely hates!!!! LEVI'S!!!! Even the sight of them makes her cry and say owie!!! Then trying to get them on her is another thing...she screams, kicks, and says "no pants, no pants". If that wasn't bad enough she follows that up with about a half hour of pouting, grabbing her legs and saying owie, and saying "off pants, off pants". She would much rather wear "soft pants" is what we call them around our house. Needless to say I am very thankful to be pulling out the summer clothes. Hopefully, we can pack the "no pants" drama into a box with the rest of the winter clothes. How can a two year old be so particular about clothes?

Saturday Morning PJ Party

One of the first Saturday's that we had really good weather we got the kids out and put them to work at the crack of dawn....it was our Saturday morning PJ party. Dad was out there bright and early and the girls wanted to help, so they all grabbed their rakes and brooms and got to work. They pulled weeds and swept the dirt off the sidewalk.

What a cute little helper. She wasn't out there too long because she slept in and almost missed all the fun!!
She was also putting more dirt on the sidewalk than off.
My little helper!

Way to go girls!! Keep up the work.

Spring Break!!

Spring break for us was last week....and it was the whole entire week. Which is great if you have plans to go somewhere, but if not....aaaaaagh!!! We had big plans to go play in St. George. Dad was going to work and the girls were going to play. Well, that got shut down on Monday. My hubby took the suburban in to get something fixed and that started a whirl wind of things!! At the end of the whirl wind....we sold our suburban to the Loucks and bought a new car!!! Yay!!!
We had been talking about it for months and then we just got a little nudge. I didn't want to get rid of the suburban because it was paid off, but I did. The lucky thing was I ended up with the exact car that I wanted, even the color. I absolutely love it!!! Hopefully, I will love the saving in gas too!! So here is a picture of my new ride!!

I did feel bad though because I ruined the girls spring break. Instead of going to St. George we just did a bunch of little things. We went to the dinosaur museum on Monday, played with friends and fought with sisters on Tuesday and Wednesday, we went to the Zoo on Thursday, and went to Grama's and swam for the weekend. I think they still had a lot of fun!!

Karli hated the dinosaur museum. The whole time she said "scarwy". She didn't even like the water and sand part. She must not have been in the mood!!! But she loved the Zoo!!!! She loved the baby elephant and the monkeys swinging. When you asked her what she saw at the zoo...she said "epant grass eat, baby epant sweeping, and mokys swing" It is so fun to listen to her cute little voice and hear how she puts things together. I didn't take any pictures because just how many pictures can you really take of the zoo.

The days we didn't have anything planned the girls would fight like crazy and make me wonder how I am ever going to get through the summer. Especially without all of the fun water stuff we had last summer.

Then we went to my mom's and spent the weekend..The girls went swimming with daddy and I made strawberry freezer jam. I wish I would have taken my camera to my mom's. On Friday night when we got there it was pretty late, but Karli was still running a million miles an hour. She was so cute...she would get in front of my mom's oven which was mostly glass so she could see herself and she would dance like a ballerina. She would lift up her leg and spin around. We were laughing so hard. We had a lot of fun..but we were glad when school started on Monday!!!

Hoppy Easter!!!

Happy Easter!!! Isn't Easter in the spring time....well this year it was winter!!! It was FREEZING!!! We went to the Eastereggstreme at Thanksgiving Point. It was a lot of fun!!Except for the cold!! I was so worried about how busy it was going to be, but it wasn't that bad. I have this thing about being in crowds...i really don't like it.

We got to hunt for eggs, do some fun activities, and meet the Easter bunny!!! He even got a hug from Karli!!!

In between egg hunts we got to do some fun activities. The girls went on a cow train ride, they got to jump in a bounce house, and they also went on the grain train!! They still had a couple of activities they wanted to do but we ended up having to go cuz it was so cold.

The Easter egg hunting started at 11:30 with Makena and Karli. They only got about 8 eggs each but they still had fun. We were waiting so long for it to start that Karli was getting mad. She would start running out there to get the eggs and we would have to grab her and say, "not yet".
So when it was time to grab the eggs she decided she wasn't interested anymore.

READY, SET, GOOOOOO!!!

Shelby and Lexi got a ton of eggs. We must have been in a better spot. They both ended up with about 32 eggs. They couldn't even fit anymore in their baskets. They didn't get the golden egg but they still got a lot of goodies and toys.

This was Karli trying out the 'Spin the Egg'.. I was trying to shoot for less mess. But I am not sure that is what happened. She sure had fun pushing the button and making the egg go round and round.

Coloring eggs is fun!!!!

Easter morning we had another egg hunt at home. They also got their baskets full of fun stuff from the bunny himself. They got books, hats, candy, and a new outfit for summer.

Out of all her goodies in her basket....she liked the grass the most. She through it all over the house.Kena trying on her new hat!! Pink of course!!
