Crazy Hair Day!!!!
Almost!!!!
I love that she is finally talking...daddy has been worried about her because she was not saying much. But who needs to when everyone waits on you and gives you what you want just with a grunt. The terrible two's are TERRIBLE don't get me wrong, but I also love this stage because of the things she says with her cute little voice. Karli's new favorite word is "omost"!! Everything you ask her...are you done with your lunch?...reply "omost".....are you ready for bed?....reply "omost"!! It is so funny!!! I die laughing every time she says it.

Scrapbook Expo!!!
I spent a way fun day today with my BFF Heather!!! We went to the scrapbook expo and it was way fun!!! I spent way to much money!!! I was on a mission to try and figure out what I was going to do to continue my scrap booking......the mission was impossible. I haven't scrap booked in forever.....and I definitely need to. I am so so behind. I do want to keep doing what I have been doing cuz I love it...but it takes way to much time. I thought I wanted to go digital until today and now I don't know....I did spend a lot of money on stuff that will probably collect dust but I had lots of fun!!! It was a great break from the kiddos and it was great to get together with with my BFF. Thanks Heather for a fun day!!

St. Patricks Day!!
So we brought in the lucky day with a huge mess from our mischievous leprechauns!!! Man they can make a mess. The girls woke up to crate paper strung from here to there, tissue paper all over the ground, along with candy wrappers, shamrocks, and all of their toys. It was a fun morning of cleaning up after them. Those little leprechauns also left a bunch of treats and fun behind.
They got to have their favorite cereal for breakfast. Eat some of their gold!!! (rolo's)

Karli is saying Jackpot!!!!
The leprechauns left them green silly string, slinkys, candy, and the movie of Pete's dragon. We finished off the day with green roll up pancakes (crepes) and green eggs. They also wanted green milk but that is where I drew the line. We had a fun day!! One that Kena was counting down for weeks. She kept saying..."mom when is that green day happening?"

You know you are in trouble....
I know I am in trouble when my four year old starts talking back to me.. The worst time of the day for me is mealtime.....I usually have kids saying they are starving, then I have to cook them something totally different from what we are having, only to have to fight them FOREVER to eat it. It makes me CRAZY!!! If they are starving why don't they just eat. Seriously, does it really take 1 hour to eat breakfast? So the other night Makena was doing her normal thing...not eating her dinner. I had already asked her about 4 times to please eat her dinner. So then I said to her "Makena, how many times do I have to ask you to eat your dinner?" And she said, "20 times and then I am still not going to eat it". I tried to be mad but ended up laughing!!! What is a mother to do? I would really like to starve my kids all day so they can be grateful for what they do have.

Update on Protein C...
My hubby went to his doctor today and between what he said and through a little research on the Internet. The girls have a 50/50 chance of inheriting the deficiency. It shouldn't be a problem and we shouldn't have to get them tested until they are older and in need of using birth control. If they do have the deficiency they will be a greater risk of blood clots if they are on birth control.
Wow...does that mean I have a bunch of grand kids to look forward to... I hope so!!! Because the other thing I read about the deficiency that it can cause multiple miscarriages. With my hubby being a father of 6 girls that could be a lot of hard ache in our future. Dang you genetics....!!!!!!
Hopefully, they will all be free from it. But for now we don't have to worry about anything unless one of them has any symptoms.

Protein C Deficiency
We finally have some answers!!! My hubby went to the doctor
today and he told him he has a protein C deficiency which
results in clotting! Apparently...he has had it his whole life,
but it just decided to manifest itself now.
So he will have to be on blood thinner for the rest
of his life...which is fine. There are no long term effects from
taking the blood thinner. It is only an issue if he were to
be in an accident.
He had is leg checked today because he was having some mild
pain in it since he had been off the blood thinner. It looks
like there is still a clot in there. Not a new one.........
just still left over from the original.
So I was reading on the Internet and it says that the protein
c deficiency is a genetic disorder.....which makes me a little
nervous. He is going to ask the Dr. next time he goes in if
the girls need to be tested for it. I hope not~~~
But it is better to know if we need to!!
So our saga continues....but it is a good one. We are all
doing well and we are blessed!!!

Bad Mother Award!!!
My girls have one day every week that they get out early!!! Just by one hour!! Anyway, for some reason I have had a hard time getting used to it. On this particular day........I totally forgot about it!!! I was just going about my day...playing with my girls and cleaning. When I heard a knock at the door. It was a little neighbor girl asking if the girls could play. I looked at her and then my heart sank!!! I looked at the clock and it had been a half an hour since I was suppose to pick them up. "Why had they not called me?" "Where are they?"
So I hurried and put the other girls in the truck and drove like a maniac to the school. When I got there the girls were not outside, the front door was locked, and I was sobbing massive tears by now. I was terrified!! Where could they have gone? My heart was beating as fast as my tears were coming. I didn't know what to do. After about 15 minutes I found someone who let me in the building and my girls were sitting in the office waiting patiently for their forgetful mother.
Lexi looked as scared as I felt and Shelby took one look at me and said "Mom, what is wrong?"
These little notes were made while Lexi was waiting. I felt so bad!!!
I got everyone home and just kept crying the whole night. I had never done anything like that before. For the rest of the week it was a pretty touchy subject. I would cry any time anyone brought it up. I definitely earned the bad mom award that day!!!
Now a couple of times a week.....I will panic about that time of day!!

Happy Birthday Karli!!!
We had a lot of fun for her birthday!!! We didn't have a huge celebration...just us and just home!! But I think she had fun. She loved her balloons and all her presents. She would open one and move right on to the next. She kept saying "more presents"!! She loves powees...(ponies)! So that is what she got a baby pony with a binkie and a little house with some baby ponies.

Trial Run........
I am so thankful that we have been blessed that he is still here. He has seen two different doctors in the last month and they both have said how lucky he is to be alive.... I think it has finally sunk in to my hubby. Anyway, it is our 11th Anniversary tomorrow and I am glad we get to continue celebrating being together. Love you honey!!

Hug them a little tighter!!!
Today I came across one of those blogs that you can't pry yourself away from, you bawl like a baby with every word that is said, and sit in awe at the spiritual giants these people are. The story was about a little boy who drowned in his mommy's big tub! She put her boys in the tub and walked away for just a minute....got distracted. He is still in the hospital and doing much better. The parents are amazing and the spiritual strength they have is incredible. It is one of those stories that after you are done reading it....you start thinking.
You start thinking about how precious life is. How not so bad your kids are. How much you love them. What else you can do to spend more time with them. How you can be a better mom. You vow to yourself that you will never let yourself get distracted. How life is too short................
So for today and many days to come...I am going to hold my baby tighter. Give my kids an extra squeeze. Be more patient with them. Be less distracted by the things that don't really matter. Hold on to the things that matter most!!!
If you want to be amazed by the spirit and faith of this family go to http://www.stakerzxposed.blogspot.com/
They have really opened my eyes on how to have and show Faith!!! She says in one of her posts that Faith and fear can not exist together. There is not room for both. And that fear is an agent of the adversary!!! Which brings me back to thinking about my life. We have been in so much turmoil lately over what to do, how to get back on our feet, and have some stability in our lives. I have been so afraid to make decisions because I fear the that they will not be the right ones.
Now what I have been going through does not compare to what this family has dealt with this past week. I need to be stronger and show more Faith. I need to get rid of my fear and let Faith chase it out! So for today and for many days to come..... I am going to be stronger and have more Faith....to let the spirit in and guide me more. To try to make decisions from my heart instead of my head.

You know your getting old when.....
I have to say that even though I have four kids and being 34 yrs of age.....aaagh!!! I really feel like I am still in my 20's. Until today that is.....(this story is more for me than anything). Yesterday I went shopping at the mall. I went in that store called Forever 21!!! I had seen them advertise it on GTU all the time so I thought I would try it out. It was an interesting store, but I shopped around....bound and determined to find something to help make me feel a little younger. I guess I am having a mid-life crisis or something, because the day before that I bought a pair of very frayed jeans. Very cute though!!! So anyway, I found a cute cardigan and bought it and was on my merry way. Well, I got home tried it on and didn't like it. Imagine that!!! My husband calls be the take back queen which I openly admit to. I don't know what it is about buying something and taking it back but I do it all the time. And I do mean all the time!!! Today I tried to take it back. I got to the register with all four of my kids...running and chasing each other might I add. I was very frustrated already with this being the 3rd store we had gone today with all 4 of my children.. The clerk calmly said I can return it for store credit only. I was confused....I had my receipt. Well, apparently at that store they do not let you return for your precious cash back. They only give you store credit...which I did not want. Don't ask me why I bought anything from this store in the first place....but I definitely did not want store credit. So I proceeded to tell her that this was the only store in America that would not let you return something WITH your receipt and get your money back......and that the clerk did not inform me of that when I bought it. So she says "well it is right there on the bottom of your receipt". And then I said "well I didn't see it until after I bought it". She gave me the look!!! The look that says "Listen lady....I don't care I just work here and by the looks of it you shouldn't even be shopping in this store anyway. You are way past 21 and you definitely haven't stayed there forever." Needless to say I felt old today!!! And after aimlessly walking around the store looking for something to spend my store credit on.....I settled on a necklace and some makeup!!! I did learn something else today...I will not be shopping at that store anymore.. At least for a couple more years until my daughter asks me to take her.

Misdiagnosed!!!
We are so excited!!! At least I am!!! My constant worry over my hubby just got a little bit of relief today. He had his follow up appointment for checking the hole in his heart that he was diagnosed with in the summer and guess what? There is no hole!! He was misdiagnosed. That is wonderful news...no more worry and no surgery. I am a little frustrated that it has been something we have been concerned about for about 9 months now. But we are very happy it is not there. Ya whoo!!!

Selective Hearing!!
I took my precious little Makena to get her hearing checked today. For weeks now I was starting to get nervous that she really had a problem with her hearing. Not just me!!! The whole family was saying the same thing. The girls kept coming up to me and saying "mom...she needs hearing aides". For two weeks we really paid attention to her hearing. We decided because she is always saying to turn up the TV or the radio, always saying "what", always not acknowledging what others said, and always talking loud that we should get her hearing tested. Well, today was that day!! And guess what we determined.....she has selective hearing. So I was very relieved. Her hearing is in the normal range!!! So for now on, I guess the question is "are you ignoring me?" instead of "can you hear me?". She was so cute though..with her cute little headphones on. During the hearing test the Dr. said something and she was suppose to repeat it back and she said....really loud....."I can't hear what you are saying"!!! What a stinker she is !! I spent $50 bucks for them to look at me crazy and say she is normal. When we left the Dr. said...Makena, you need to start listening to your mommy!!! Yea, whatever....we will see how long that lasts. I am very thankful for the results though.

The Birds and the Bees!!!
Does this look like a face that needs to have the "birds and the bees" talk? I don't think so!!!Has this moment already come in my life? There is no way!!! She is only 9 years old. I have been pushing this topic aside for about 6 months now and I don't think it is going away!!!! AAAAGH!!! The other day the subject got brought up and she said "mom....I'm 9 years old, I know these things"
She is growing up so fast!!! I can't believe she is going to be 10 in May!! I can still remember when she was a baby, crawling like she had a broken leg, taking her first steps, mastering potty training, the list goes on and on.... Time flies!!!
She is such a good big sister!! She is always helping me and setting a good example for her sisters. She is always happy and is the peacemaker in our family. She is a special little girl and I am lucky to have been blessed with her. I just need her to stop getting big!! With that being said, I do look forward to us being good friends...going to lunch together, going shopping, having girl talks, and all that fun stuff. I am just not ready for everything else that comes with growing up. I guess I better get ready...

Our Last Day!!!
Our last day at the happiest place on earth was spent in Toon Town!!! The girls had a blast here and we didn't feel rushed or crazy. Their favorite ride today was the Roger Rabbit ride and the roller coaster. We got to put the kids in Jail, take a ride on the fire truck, and mail some letters.
........Kena screaming bloody murder about not wanting to go on Alice in Wonderland.
....Kena saying to Lexi "I'm a princess and your not"!
....Kena saying to Lexi "I'm a princess and your not"!
..........Shelby and Lexi screaming their heads off on the Big Thunder Railroad.
...being very sick of peanut butter and honey sandwiches.
...........the girls falling asleep every night on our 10 minute drive to the hotel.
....Shelby falling and almost breaking her cheek bone on the shuttle bus the second day
...........the bugs life 3D movie....that was great!!!
.....hating all the people.
..........getting into a yelling match with a lady at the Pizza Port
......never getting to see the fireworks
..........wearing ourselves ragged every day
......spending time with my family and watching the girls faces light up every day!!!!
PRICELESS!!!
